I was being simplistic to show that when a person expects a certain reaction from their presence it is very difficult to accept or believe that people believe something different about you. The transition must be very difficult. Here was a man adored, and not despised. He doesn't know who to trust yet he doesn't know how to not trust. He is a walking dichotomy in regards to his public persona. It is taking him as it would anyone years to change his own perceptions of how he is perceived. A perfect example is when a person changes and everyone within their sphere actually conspire to bring the person back to the role they had before. It must be difficult for those people with public personas as well as personal persona lives. Suddenly one goes from the most loved to the most hated. It could actually be very confusing and difficult to even be in public. After the Civil Trial verdict and the people outside the Santa Monica Reveled in their putting the black man back to his corner, and called children's services, O.J. stops for Ice Cream because they asked him to and arrives home with police cars in his driveway once again. I can only imagine the confusion and sick feelings he had at that point. The next day the person who called Children's services must have felt vindicated when it was revealed that the stupid man actually stopped and got Ice Cream for his children on his way home from the verdict. Now whatever he does gets reported in the worst possible way. He was always insulated from this stuff and probably Kathy Randa does her best to continue. Maybe this is why he doesn't realize how dangerous it is for him to go to court over the non incident so wildly reported and over charging that could put O.J. Simpson away for sixteen years. '
