I am spesking of the woman who stayed with a man capable of killing her for over twenty years and walks away finally. They did tests in the sixties which showed the Learned Helplessness theory. The test used German Shepards. They put them in cages and for begining with a certain behavior the dog was shocked. They changed the circustances to a random shock for no reason. Also in the beginning there was no way out of the cage, as in locked day. As the reason for the shock happened the ability to leave changed until with the random shocks the door was open. By the time of the open door the scientist's had to literally pull the dogs out of the cages, I'd call them animal abusers not scientists. Basically someone has to get in and help. The I have been making is that the belief that the woman is playing a game is part of the disease that society adds to the stigmas of our societies ills. The insidious part of this is that we were headed towards changing these problems. We had begun the change and something went awry. With Equality became responsiblity. Woman have had their rights for less time than any other minority and are infants to exercising our choices. We are not given the benefit of the doubts when it comes to the choices of fear and uncertainty. Men were given Eons to make choices and they still make the worst ones in this area. They are still doing it. In another theory reaching test they really did some major damage to some Monkeys and the different Mom's. One had a Mom, one had a carpet Mom that gave it milk, one Mom actually was just the food chaing. In on set of tests they began with groups of monkeys with the same circumstances. The babies with just the milk bottles had to be sperated after several months and the smallest one died from lack of food and beatings. His siblings had to be destroyed because they could not be made social in anyway. He didn't get any milk. The carpet group also had to be seperated. They were borderline anti-social. After a lot of work they learned to be in the same room with other monkeys but had their own space and basically spent their time alone. This also created a few failure chain monkeys and a Workaholic. The Monkey's with their real Mom and daily security within their envoirnment were well adjusted and productive. Now and then a monkey born with everything would become antisocial but this is normal percentage in real sociaty. The punishment syndorme is where our society is now. They are making it okay to tell Woman what they can do with their bodies. Where was the doctor when he found crack in her systen during prehancy. Or was it more of a situation where Government Funds were pulled and the woman had no support. Former First Lady Senator Hillary Clinton said it best. It takes a villiage to raise a child. I am sure if I searched I might find a better quote from Eleanor Roosevelt, but I don't care to go to the trouble for just a quote. I know lots of women who hear the sentence from Parenting class, "Your children need to understand that you have a life too." and take it to mean, it is okay to ignore your child's pain and go have a good time. Anyway, I will stop rambling. Venting, whatever.
