I will tell you one thing, it drives me nuts how if a law meant for gang members is used to try as adults regular kids for their crimes. Yes, they should be punished but when the law to try children as adults was passed it was supposed to be kids who had previous records and/or known gang members. They prosecutors took the most liberal meaning of this and now a child is only protected if they believe an adult did something to them. The double standard is becoming outrageous. It is sickening because kids will make mistakes and are never given a second chance. A kid who was 13 when he committed a major mistake and is now fourteen is going to spend twenty five years to life in prison. Now what kind of individual will this Honor Roll Student with no previous criminal record be when he is, if he is ever, released.
