This could be remided if the poeple were willing the money for the poor to have some semblace of being able to get the expert witnesses, etc . to come close to the prosecutional resources and manpower. No prosecution should be allowed to present an expert, ie FBI, unless the poor individual has the resources given for an equal expert from the private sector. This is where the primary problem exists. But when you talk about the rich man being against the prosecution this only gets close to a leval playing field. OJ had 2 private dectectives. The prosecution could draw on 9,000. OJ had between 10 and 15 attorneys. The prosecuttion could draw on the resources of 900. Now count the expert witnesses. The prosecution certainly was not outnumbered. Most expert witnesses primarily testify for the prosection as it is the prosecution who can aford to pay them. It is not the rich man who causes the inequity, it is the prosection with almost limited resources that cause the problem. I don't know what the figures are but the prosecution wins far more cases than they loose. More in the case of poor, because the poor and the rich have to go up have to go up aginst an army. The differnce is that the rich can support an army of their own and even then it is usually not equal to the resouces of the prosecution. The prosecuton also has the abily to overcharge a case. Then they can make a deal, that the poor can rarely turn down guilty or innocent. So innocent men pled guilty and go to jail, because of the power of the prosecution. And with all the power and resources that they have they are the only ones who are supposed to be trying to find the truth. But even when they know that a person is innocent they still bring all their power to prosecute him. Yes the system stinks, but the stink comes from the prosecution, not the rich man, nor defense lawyers. Jean On to 2002!!!
