I do not think Karpf saw Schwab. Their testimony about the dog's actions is too different and Schwab is about about 10 minutes later. The man walking his dag at this time is unknown, just as the couple Schwab met is unknown. Dick will be putting up an article on this shortly.
Karpf says he did not see blood on the akita but he did see a lease. There is no lease on the dog when Schwab finds the akita. It does not appear that Karpf would have had much time to observe the dog before he dashed behind his gate. I would think he did see Nicole's dog, as it is unlikely another dog would be barking furiously, acting in this manner, and loose the street at this time on the night of the murders. I think in the lighting in front of his condo, he proably did not see the blood on the akita and only thought he saw a lease.
