Jean, … The time stamp generated by the NCR machine on the check the server gave the customer didn’t mesh with daylight saving time or any other time. It was an hour and several minutes off. But the credit card receipt (printed by a different machine was accurate when adjusted for daylight savings time. The confusion came from the fact that Nicole paid her bill, just as Mandel did, with a credit card but the time she paid the check was taken from the bogus NCR time stamp on her restaurant bill. Mandel took his from his credit cart receipt. He used the 8:55 time adjusted for daylight savings time to refresh his memory for his trial testimony. But he had another time check to work backward to the time he passed Nicole’s condo. ……………………..July 11 testimony: …MR. SHAPIRO: How can you relate what time it was? …MR.
