My suggestion for TMZ is that they start a SFU Fund. The SFU (Shut Fred Up) Fund would be like a quota drive to reach 40 million as soon as possible. With 300 million people in the United States, one would not think it would be hard to reach that quota. Think of the publicity TMZ would get if they posted a running total of donations received on their site. Any amount over the amount the Goldman's and the Brown's won in the civil suit could go to an unsolved crime fund to help other crime victims. In no time at all, TMZ would raise enough money to satisfy the civil judgment and "shut Fred up", reducing any possible monetary suit that TMZ might be dragged into for posting a link to the book. One thing would make this go even fastest is if the media outlets pledged $1.00 every time they used the name OJ Simpson in a article or story. Whatever would Fred do if the civil suit was paid in full by those tired of his "I am the most important victim of any murder and I need justice" (ignoring the other 212,453 murders committed in the US from 1994-2005)? If everyone who has had a tradgey in their life would send a $1.00, the civil suit would be paid in no time at all. Maybe some of the extra money could go toward grief counseling for the Goldman family. Just my thoughts.
