Paddy, …The golf clubs originally belonged to Julie’s mother Anne. Julie got them after her mother’s death because they were women’s clubs and she was the only female in the household. In practical terms that set of clubs belonged to every family member in the house who was old enough to use them and by all witness accounts all of them did. …………The rarity of the club that killed Martha is what linked her killer to the Skakel house. RUMORS about Tommy and Michael made them prime suspects when the police learned that Tommy was the last person to see Martha alive and Michael might not have had the alibi that he, his older brothers and his cousin said he had. My impression of Julie was that she was as honest as possible with TWO brothers on the prime suspect list. I see her trying to recall everything regardless of the implications but not immune to being influenced by them. That’s what I saw in her hypnoses sessions, Ditto with John and Jim. …………There was no case against Michal that didn’t depend upon rumor, conjecture, suppressed evidence and the idea that the killer had to be a Skakel because of the murder weapon. But if there was no question of Michal’s innocence with Littleton and Wittinie “in the clear” what were the implications for Tommy? …………A common myth about homicide investigations is that innocent people don’t lie. In fact, innocent people act just like guilty ones when they believe the truth (as they see it) makes them look guilty. Tommy and Michal had to know they were murder suspects when the police first questioned them. It seems natural to me that they would avoid saying anything that made them look guilty. …………With John, Rushton Jr. and their cousin Jim Terrien you need a conspiracy to give Michal a false alibi, a conspiracy that had to include Tommy. If they got together to do that for Michael, where does that leave Tommy? Looking carefully at Fuhrman’s analysis, you can see that he figured out Andrea Shakespeare was wrong about seeing Michael in the house after his older brothers and their cousin drove away. Otherwise he would not have had to do his time-sifting act to break Michael’s alibi. …………In Fuhrman’s movie he calls the Terriens, the “Morgans.” He changes the name of the gardener, the tutor, the guy next door and the kids in the Lincoln with Martha, Tommy and Michael. He invents characters who are probably supposed to be composites of several real people but nowhere in his stacked deck of witnesses is the most important alibi-cracking witness – Andrea Shakespeare. ………….Michael WAS at the Terrien’s house when Martha was murdered and Fuhrman knew it. Michel didn’t do it but everyone was afraid that Tommy did. –Jasper
