Solitairea1, …Mark Fuhrman’s talk show reference to Tom Nolan was on Geraldo the same night he did his 20/20 interview with Dianne Sawyer. I also learned that the 20/20 show was in late February, 1997. That means the book that Sawyer and Geraldo had were advanced copies (her blurb about her interview Fuhrman is on the back cover of the one for sale). The ABC studio (Sawyer) and the NBC studio (Geraldo) must have been close together because Fuhrman wore the same suit and tie (the blue one with the little white boxes). …….………On the show Geraldo reads what Vannatter and Lange said about no one but Fuhrman seeing the fingerprint in blood on Nicole’s back gate. ….. Fuhrman Replies: In the book, the way it’s described, Brad Roberts, ah, probably, ah, saw it first and was emphatic about that description. And I brought Brad up to Idaho and I made sure of a lot of details. And he had a, you know, uncanny memory about many of the details in this case — . …Geraldo: Brad Roberts… ….Fuhrman: Absolutely. Ah, there’s somebody that, ah, Brad Roberts recently brought to my attention that I forgot all about. And that’s another detective that worked West L.A. that was there so briefly I didn’t even remember that he was even there. And that was a detective named Tom Nolan. …Geraldo: And you say he would also corroborate the, fi – , the existence of the fingerprint? …Fuhrman: Just recently he came -- to Brad Roberts and he goes, “I remember that exactly. I…” …Geraldo: But not only was the – alleged fingerprint not collected, the blood sample wasn’t taken until three weeks later. Who do you blame for that? ……………………….. Geraldo takes it from there to “grill” Fuhrman about what was said, or not said, done or not done about the fingerprint. No more Tom Nolan. ………....So, we’ve got Fuhrman on 20/20 giving Roberts as his only witness to the presence of the fingerprint – just as he did in his book, and Roberts giving himself as the only witness. Later that night we have Fuhrman telling the whole story. He tells about Roberts (not Phillips or DeVries) helping him with the book and Roberts telling him that Nolan reminded Roberts (not Phillips, Vannatter or Lange) that he saw the fingerprint. We’ve got two dynamite witnesses, one detective with an uncanny eye for detail and another one with an uncanny memory for detail, leaving out a whole nother “detective.” Well, he WAS invisible for a long time while Phillips was obviously in hibernation. ……….. Any questions? –Jasper
