Some people also think that they must be wrong and in essense lie, because they think the person lieing must be right. Did not say that very well but I think you will get it. Some people just go along with the crowd. Some will say anything to just get rid of you. A few people in a conspiracy may be backed by many more than actually in the conspiracy for various reasons they lie intentionally out of fear or unintentionally by thinking someone elses perception is better than theirs.
