If a neigbor or good friend needs a medical doctor that is OK. But a good psychiatrist will refer someone close out to a college. First they would not want them as patients and second they cannot keep their objectivity with someone they know outside the office. They might perscribe say an antibiotic as a friend but not those other drugs.
