Solitairea1 …….It wasn’t the Phoenix rising out of the ashes that Fuhrman kept on his desk at work; it was a swastika flag rising out of the rubble of the fallen Berlin Wall. But you are dead on target with the rising Phoenix being the basis of that cartoon and the “invisible” bird clasping the swastika that gives it so much power http://www.smartfellowspress.com/german_medals.htm . Fuhrman drives that point home in his Murder in Greenwich movie where he tosses a newspaper into a burning barrel and you get a close-up of the bird logo above the “Disgraced Cop” headline http://www.smartfellowspress.com/smokinggun/Smoke_3/smoke_3_chap_11.htm (fourth photo from bottom). Fuhrman IS the bird. He does rise from the ashes of his disgrace as well as the Nazi ideal for disposing of undesirables are inextricably entwined. --Jasper
