Karpf was not close to Ron Goldman. He came out to the mailbox that are in the center of the apartment complex and would not have had to come by the area where Goldman was laying. The next palm tree sits in front of the apartment that was in front of Karpf;s apartment. Karpf would exit his apartment out to a main courtyard and not in the area ajacent to Goldman's body.
