In my February 13 Wild Guess post I wrote: “The book project I have in mind that fits what I’ve seen of Fuhrman’s apparent preparation for questions about Anna Nicole Smith’s death is a Fuhrman investigation into the death of her son. I’m thinking about his preparation for Silent Witness (copyright 2005). In that book he gives loads of expert information on the pathology associated with the death of Terri Schiavo, particularly with the indicators of oxygen deprivation and the various means of producing it.” …….. I wish I had been more specific about what Fuhrman said in that February 12 appearance on Hannity and Combs. The two things he shined on were his observations about the methadone that killed Daniel and the prescription pill bottle with Stern’s name on it by Anna Nicole’s bedside. These were the “pharmacological” ingredients that Fuhrman combined with rhetorical questions about Stern to argue that the bedroom should have been declared a crime scene. He said that METHADONE was being used as a popular recreational substitute for heroine. He hinted that he suspected methadone as a contributing factor in Anna Nicole’s death just as it was the cause of her son’s death. ………..My first reaction to the idea that Anna Nicole was poisoned was that she wasn’t. But Fuhrman suggested that methadone could act as a poison and Michael Baden came right out and said so. My first reaction to the cause of the purple splotches on Anna Nicole’s face and upper body was asphyxiation. But the medical examiner ruled that out. I also knew that drug interactions that cause oxygen deprivation in the blood can also result in purple blotches on the face and upper body. Therefore I knew that ruling out asphyxiation did not rule out death by the wrong interaction of drugs. ………..Yesterday on Hannity and Combs I learned that Fuhrman was probably on the money with his methadone observations. He was again on the show with Baden who said, “The cause of Anna Nicole’s death will probably be methadone.” ………… Just before that Fuhrman said something that blew me away because of what I saw in a movie the night before. He said, “If a RATTLESNAKE wore a SUIT it would be Howard K. Stern.” The movie was The Mighty Quinn with Denzel Washington as Quinn, the chief of police on an unnamed Caribbean island nation. I watched it because of the white uniform of the guard in the photo with the former Bahamian prime minister. That’s the uniform Quin wears in the beginning of the movie where he attends a wedding and stops a man from killing the groom because the baby the bride is carrying is his. Washington’s character disarms the man and tells him in that Bahaman dialect we have herd so much lately, “Get over it, mon,. It don’t matter who the baby’s father is.” ………….Hang in there, I’m coming to the poisonous snake and the suit. ………… The focus of the movie is on the murder of a man who appears to have met his death by decapitation at the hands of a local character. Then it appears that the victim’s death was related to a CIA operation involving a SUITcase full of $10,000 bills. The real cause of cause of death? A poisonous snakebite. The mother of his child planted the snake because he refused to acknowledge paternity. The bad guy in the CIA plot gets it when he opens the suitcase on a helicopter in flight and the snake bites the pilot. – Jasper
