Upscale has nothing to do with it. Most of the people had upscale jobs and had to go to work the next day. People get the idea that in L>A> all those upscale people party all night. But actually, esp the people around movies go to bed early and are on the job very early. How many people in your neighborhood actually walk their dogs at midnight. They might let them out or on a leash to the backyard but not long walks.
