Stillatlarge … I’m sure from my phone conversations with Bill Wasz that the documentary he was working on to promote his book was going to have much to say about Andrew Luster. Of all the men he met in prison, Andrew was the only one he believed was flat out innocent. ……..This position went against Bill’s conservative Republican philosophy. Even while he was in prison he did not believe that cops and prosecutors lied and cheated to put people away. His beef was with the corruption built into the system that deliberately promoted crime to fuel California’s billion-dollar “corrections” machine. He made a point of saying that he was in prison because he deserved to be there and he summarily dismissed anyone’s claim of being framed. ………Only in the last year of Bill Wasz’s incarceration when he became Andrew Luster’s bodyguard did he begin to rethink his position – but only in regard to Andrew. The timing and circumstances of Bill’s death (with critical input from Elizabeth Luster and Bill Wasz’s attorney Larry Longo and his son Frank in the so-called investigation) derailed everything. When Bill Wasz died everything positive that was associated with his documentary project died with him. ..……..My best guess as to why Andrew’s mother hasn’t done more than she has with the site or with a documentary has to do with Larry Longo. I think it has something to do with the “evidence” her lawyer (Longo) showed her that Bill Wasz was stealing from her and the superficial evidence that his death was accidental. I don’t think she ever understood the full implications of what Bill Wasz wanted to do with the book and the documentary. From my conversations with Bill, I know that he did. ………Elizabeth Luster has the terrible handicap of being a genuinely good person with no idea of how much power she has to do big things for her son on her own. If she knew what she could do WITHOUT A LAWER (especially Larry and Frank Longo) and had the confidence to do it, I believe you’d be seeing a lot more. –Jasper
