I found a Richard E. Crotsley, Det III, robbery homicide, on the LAPD website...In this link to "The Beat". an LAPD publication, he is mentioned on the 4th page under "July commendations" heading in the right hand column, 4th name down....It seems this is our guy but I will do a little more research to be sure.
