If I were in Horowitz’s place and told the stories he did I KNOW I’d be in jail. …………From the looks of things so far the coroner might not have been able to pin down Vitale’s time of death to within 24 hours unless she saw someone or had a phone conversation in that time. If the killer struck around the time she normally woke up in the morning the likelihood that she would have seen anyone or talked to anyone one the phone was very remote. Horowitz would have been able to tell if anyone called her just by checking the incoming calls on their regular phone or her cell phone if they were set up to do that. He gave a real good excuse for using the modular house phone after he found the body. But how would he know whether she called someone else? ………What I’m getting at here is Buster’s question about Horowitz knowing if Scott Dyleski had an alibi. I don’t think that would have been a problem. Everybody goes to sleep sometimes and few people have an airtight alibi for any 24-hour period. All Horowitz had to know to carve the Loran Cross in his wife’s back (through the t-shirt?) and to plant other incriminating items was that the kid was somewhere in the neighborhood. He could have seen him on his way to the house. …….Then there’s that bit about the guy from the plant growing equipment company suspecting fraud with the credit card and not shipping the equipment. Seems to me that he would have called Horowitz and Vitale to let them know what he suspected. Did he or didn’t he? –Jasper
