Well, "Shattered" was about what i expected. Some observations and comments about this book, i'd like to make for those who don't have either of Faye's books. ...I've read a few times how it seems that Faye is trying to Be Nicole. I really saw that, looking at the covers of her two books side by side, along with her making herself out to be as much a victim as Nicole! ...But though Faye makes me sick, some of the crap she writes made me laugh in a sarcastic way. ....I can't put everything in one post, but want to write some of my comments and observations. ...About her co-writer Jeanne Viner Bell, you think she's any relation to Michael Viner? ...Here's Faye's Dedication: "This book is dedicated to my father in heaven, to Nicole and Ron, to those who walk the path with me, and to the goddess of strength in all women". WEIRD!!! Now i don't believe for a moment Faye meant God when she wrote to her "father in heaven". ...I wonder if Faye's father died? In the Acknowledgements, she say's, "To my mother and father, for all their love". ...She also mentions her "loving sisters, Patricia and Victoria" and her brothers, "Curtis, Jeffrey and Michael". ...And of course Paul Resnick, and her "stepdaughters, Jennifer, Jessica and Julie". ... ....I also noticed that when she refers to her friend Kathy Harouche, in this book, Faye never once writes the name Harouche, as she did in "Private Diary" and her Depo. ...Same with her sister, Patricia Elizabeth Hutchison. Nowhere is Hutchison referred to. Only Patricia and once Patsy. ....Dominick Dunne wrote the forward to this book, just like he did for Mark Fuhrman in "Murder in Greenwich". ...Oh, and no pictures in this book! ...In Chapter 10-"Book Tour", pg.117, Faye writes about London: "I had lived in London for a year-Francesca was born there-and I was familiar with the tabloid tactics of the London press and knew what to expect". .....In Chapter 9-"Blaming Faye", pg.105-106, writing about Sheila Weller, and questions about her ethnicity and race, Faye writes:"Among other things, she questioned my racial background. For the record, I am Italian, Spanish, and English, or-to be more precise-I am Corsican, Castillian, and Anglo-Saxon. But I stay very tan and that may give some people the impression that I am black. I am not. If I were, I would gladly say so. That's a trivial detail, mentioned only to show her uninformed approach". ...Here's a good one! In Chapter 9-"Blaming Faye", pg.104, referring to tabloid show, "Current Affair", Faye writes:"But they did not stop there. "Current Affair" interviewed my stepdaughter Jackie, one of Paul Resnick's daughters, and did an especially cruel piece called "Stepmommy Dearest". Lol!!!! I would love to read That one!!! ...I remember it being posted about Faye sending Denise Brown a check for Sydney and Justin. ...In Chapter 4-"Damage and the Inner Circle", pg.52, Faye writes:"I am still puzzled by what happened when I sent the Browns money for Sydney and Justin's education. My check for $10,000 from the proceeds of "Diary" went to them with a letter stating that it was to be used for the children's education and that I would be sending more. I was informed that there would not be a fund for the education of Nicole's children, and that all contributions were going to the Nicole Brown Simpson Charitable Foundation. They cashed the check, but when I learned that the money would not be earmarked for Sydney and Justin, I decided to send my future donations to groups and organizations that help or help educate victims of domestic violence". .....Well, Faye and Denise must have been trying to outdo each other on which one of them could Scam the most money, lol! ...I went to the library today, and among other books, i picked up "The Run of His Life" by Jeffrey Toobin. (He sounds real hateful and biased against OJ, but just wanted to see what info. was in the book). In Chapter 10, pg.202, he writes about this:"As for Resnick's purported desire to help the Simpson children, Dove donated $10,000 to the foundation Nicole's parents established in her memory. This largesse amounted to about one cent for each of the one million or so copies of "Private Diary that were sold". ..... Also in Toobin's book, same chapter 10, pg.199, he refers to Faye as a Native Californian. This is what he wrote:"At the time of the trial, Faye Resnick was thirty-seven years old, a native Californian with a trim build and orange hair. When we met, she was wearing bangles on both arms and three rings on her left hand, including one on her thumb. As the ex-wife of Paul Resnick, a wealthy Los Angeles businessman, she dabbled in charity projects and worked hard on her appearance". ....Back to "Shattered", in Chapter 10-"Book Tour", pg.114, Faye writes:" A few weeks before the book tour began, I was able to find some time to relax. I went to visit my sister in Marin County and finally get a few things out of storage. It had been months since i had seen and worn some of my things and I was finally beginning to feel like myself again". ....And to finish this post, here's what Faye had to say about her interview with Connie Chung in Chapter 6-"Meet the Press", pg.72-73:"....Connie said, "Okay." And for the rest of the interview she was very pleasant. However, I had asked her not to do any close-ups because my hair was now olive green from a hair-coloring fiasco in France and I knew I looked terrible. Of course the camera ended up being inches from my face". ............On that note, i'll just say, more later!!!! ................... Solitairea1
