Does anyone recall if the witnesses (like Schwab and others) were asked if they went to the Mezzaluna?
While thinking about something else and thinking about how many of these people knew each other, I happened to wonder about this.
I know of several "neighborhood' bars and restuarants which have a very large "set" of regulars and all these regulars know each other. They may not come in every single night but several times a week..either to eat or to drink or just visit.
Nicole was considered a regular (and the several times that was mentioned did not qualify as a regular) A regular comes more than that so I think someone was lying.
These folks that I know of can be counted on to go several times a week and they also know the bartenders, the owners/mgrs, the waitresses, etc. This can be true of any bar or restuarant but is especially true of the neighborhood ones. Mezz might have been a chain but still qualified, I think, as a neighborhood bar.
When my sister lived here, she went to such a bar quite frequently. I was always amazed when we went there at how many of the folks sitting around drinking or watching tv or eating that she knew. And these folks tended to be people from that area of town. People from the north side of town didn't come across town to that bar..not on a regular basis anyway.
I think it highly likely that the Schwab was at least known to some of the folks and the time witnesses and the barking dog witnesses, etc. knew each other. I know that some did for sure. They have said that they did.
Wouldn't the jury have thought it Odd that all the witnesses knew each other or of each other--hence, they weren't asked?
