Kari,

Fuhrman could have been assigned to military Intelligence for some of his duties in the Marines. He would not have worked for military Intelligence as a civilian. The various Intelligence entities often work against each other because they don’t know what the other guys are doing and fail to share vital information because they don’t want the other guys to know what they are doing. I don’t think I need to cite any examples. Technically, there is no such thing as “Military Intelligence.”

The way the military is structured you work for Intelligence only within your branch of service (Army, Navy, Air Force or Coast Guard). As a marine, Fuhrman would have worked for Navy Intelligence. He could have been TDY (Temporary Duty Assignment) to the CIA or another branch of the service for a particular purpose. However, as a Military Policeman, it is more likely that any covert work he did in the Marines would have been for the Navy or Marine Corps CID (Criminal Investigation Division).

You can always find something in the government that stinks of corruption but it doesn’t take any kind of government conspiracy to do what was done in the cases of O.J. Simpson and Michael Moxley. All it takes is the right individual contacts. –Jasper
