Guys do not go 30 miles cause the drinks are better, but because the girls are easier to pick up and get laid. Perhaps their plans, if they really did have plans, were loose cause Ron had a chance to get laid at Nicoles. Maybe what Tanner left out is that when he talked to Nicole at the bar, he knew that it was unneccery for him to go find a girl and told Tanner then.
