Kato WAS a gofer. That was his job. He stayed in a guestroom but he was not a guest. He was an employee. He worked sparingly to take care of little odd jobs in exchange for free rent while he pursed his acting career. Nicole used Kato as a gofer, too, but she made him pay rent.
