Good work. Thanks for clearing that up. You are going to run into a lot of things like that. You will be surprised at how often they are resolved in exchanges just like this.
And, yes. It is VERY odd that more wasn’t discussed about the ring found by Ron’s body.
Maybe you had it right in the first place. There is no way that ring could have “fallen” off Ron’s finger or been accidentally pulled off in a struggle – unless it was too big for him. If the ring was another thumb ring belonging to Nicole, the answer might have been as simple as Nicole giving to Ron to see if it fit one of his fingers or pulling it off in anger and throwing it on the ground before she opened the gate for Ron. Then again, the killer might have taken it off. But if that were true, how did it end up under Ron’s body?
Remember what Sydney said about the conversation between Nicole and her “best friend” that made her cry? Assuming that it was Nicole’s ring and Faye gave it to her, I’m inclined to think that Nicole was so upset with Faye that she stewed about it and threw the ring away when she went outside – but not so far away that she couldn’t retrieve it if they made up.
