Before the Freudian slip (which I don't think it was) Darden says:
"You can't get from point a to point B if you just sit down and use your common sense. If you are logical, if you are reasonable, you can't do that."
Darden is somehow reversing to the jury what it is supposed to do, USE their common sense to come to a verdict.
I am so glad to give Darden the benefit of a doubt. I did think his performance at the press conference after the verdict was strange. Maybe he was hiding a smile beind those tears.
