Dana Point and the Speedlimit

Yes, it would make a difference. And I am not sure that a freeway is "limited" access or not.

But prior to the change in 1/96, the speed limits were 55 mph. Although people tend to go over the speed limit some bit--it usually stays w/out 10mph. At least that is my experience. Going a lot over what the rest of the folks are doing--stands out and will for sure get you a ticket. That speed limit would tend to have all the traffic a bit slower and you would have of course, the people going exactly the speed limit who have to be dealt with or passed or put up with.

I know my experience with driving the 55 mph on I 75 many many times was that people tended not to go over 70 mph at the most. Most people hung around the 65+mph during that time.

I just think it should be considered that when this trip was made the speed limit was 55mph not 65 or 70mph.
