I have spent time this AM on the various driving directions sites and they still say it takes anywhere from an hour and 15 min. to an hour and 27 minutes--but we know that Rose and Dick did it in an hour.
What I did notice is that they all say it is 69 miles now --getting off at Crown Valley Road (the road name I couldn't recall earlier this AM). The shortest route is 63 miles but takes the longest to drive--via the PCH part of the way. It lists it at an hour and 57 minutes.
We must recall this is at today's speed limits and not what they were in 94 which I think is before they lowered them. But not sure. Just when that was done might be interesting to know.
Also, with it now listed at 69 miles instead of 75 miles--on a highway that was only improved not rerouted--says that there is a change somewhere along the route that gave a cut thru that was not there in 94. Something cut off approx 6 miles to the trip.
