Jolana, This came up because this is a major issue in OJ's new appeal.
Sorry, but I disagree. Early statements and news articles, etc. expressly mentioned leaving at least at 9 PM. if not later.
The road then is not what it is now. Every person who mentioned it in the time frame of the murders called it an hour and a half trip. Even people whose interest it would be to have the shorter trip.
It is not going to get solved by us but I think the public statements by the Browns such as the phone ringing when they arrived and it was Nicole and things like that--ought to mean something--unless we are going to say they are people who just told stories to hear themselves talk.
You also mention things that are generally accepted--like about Rachel but when it comes right down to it, not one witness PUT Rachel at the restuarant...not even Denise. These things are the "official" story but they don't jive with what the Browns said then and in some cases later.
In some instances, like the Civil Trial, Judy tells that the glasses were missing from the time they were inside eating and the search was made then. She told this on national tv as well with the addition that the waitress was going to continue to look in the parking lot and elsewhere.
Every minute past 8:30 they are at the restuarant makes it less and less likely that they made the trip in an hour--esp with the roads back then.
Just because the Mezz employees told a halfway straight story doesn't mean anything. We know they got together (even with Kato) and discussed it.
Clark herself until way into the trial called the Browns leaving at 9PM.
Sorry, if I don't believe the Browns and the Mezz employees' stories.
Why they would do it --except for the money--I don't know. But then again, Freddy Goldman let a bunch of stuff pass as well--for the money?
