Just making it appear that they left at 8:30 or so could NOT be the only reasons for the lies about the search for the glasses.
If it was, all they had to do was say they looked at the restuarant but couldn't find them, and then called when they got home to see if they got found (9:37) and JUdy was told they had and they were there in an envelope with her name on them. She could have still called Nicole and told her.
But,no, that is NOT what they did. They went into a long bogus story about not missing them until she was on the way home from the restuarant and then tried to make a 2 min. call into a search and discussion of the glasses.
If the search had taken place while they were eating, they could still have left on time to get home by the 9:37 as they claimed they did. But no, they HAD to have the search later--after she was gone. Why? In fact, it would have made MORE sense than the story that they told.
WHY was it important that the search be after they left?
