Jasper, This is true. If the tags are gone--why not the leash as well.

If, in fact, both the tags and the leash are gone and never again seen that night---the lookout could have removed both.

Wasn't it Faye who said she was told by NIc that Nicole planned to walk the dog and meet up with Ron? Perhaps she was just preparing to go when the attack happened?

Actually, it would be pretty vital info (in a real investigation). When the tags and leash disappears at a time that the killer ( i.e. OJ) is supposed to have left the area.

If the dog walker that Karpf saw was not Schwab, he could have seen Karpf and removed the leash afterward (with the tags).

I think it likely that the group (killers and lookouts) did not leave the scene in a rushed group. I think it likely that the lookouts casually strolled away from the scene --or continued doing what it looked like that they were doing.

It could be that they didn't want the bodies found too soon. Anybody (other than Karpf who appeared afraid of the dog) might have investigated a dog dragging a leash---esp once they got up close and saw the blood.

However, this is just another inconsistency that was casually dismissed --in favor of the dog walker being Schwab and many other things. Or that someone was mistaken or in error.
