Rovaan,

The reason I constructed the time zone overlay was to answer questions like these. Don't just glance at it; study it. Try to pick it apart. It may have taken you two days to see it but it took me several hours a day every day for two weeks to make it. I don't know what weight you give to context as a rule but you gave me a strong hint. The fact that the first map for June 12 that you saw in Merging Timelines did not match the text and was identical to the one above it did not tell you that it was the wrong picture. It told you that I didn't have a clue. It ought to be clear at this point that we both made a big mistake.

Unlike you, I cannot take anything I read literally. I have to look at context because I'm dyslexic. I have been figuring out ways to see chaotic things correctly all my life. The time zone overly is a physical extension of a mental tool I use to cope with my handicap. I still don't think you see the overly for the objective analytical tool it is for ANYONE to bring order out of chaos visually.

Look at the orange time zones on the map (please take your time). About five minutes from one orange node to the next.

Schwab met the couple on Gorham between Gretna Green and Amherst. Check the transcript - it does not say that he met them on the corner of Amherst. If he had met them there and they were walking at the same pace Schwab was walking they would have been five minutes north of Bundy when Schwab reached the dog. If he met them in the middle of the two streets they would have been halfway to Dorothy. In either case they would have been on the opposite side of the street and nowhere near the dog.

Q: ALL RIGHT. SO YOU GOT TO THE CORNER OF DOROTHY AND BUNDY AND YOU SAW A DOG? [Actually, he saw the dog before he got to the corner.]

A: YES.

Q: WAS THERE ANYONE WITH THAT DOG?

A: NO. AS I GOT TO THE CORNER I SAW THAT THE DOG WAS ALONE. AT THAT POINT IT WAS JUST STANDING ON THE CORNER.

Q: WHAT DID YOU DO?

A: WELL, I APPROACHED THE DOG AND I WANTED -- I SAW THAT IT WAS ALONE AND I OBSERVED THE DOG FOR A MINUTE OR TWO…

Look at the sequence. Goes to dog. Sees that dog is alone. Observes dog for a minute or two. For that minute or two Schwab is not looking for people. He's looking AT the dog. Schwab doesn't say he didn't see the couple then. He didn't even mention the couple until Marcia asks him about a lot of other things, the court recessed and they started again. She was the one who introduced the subject of the couple for the first time then asked if he saw them again.

Go to High Point/Merging Timelines. Click on the hot spot just north of Bundy and Dorothy. Now, read the text, in context -- slowly this time.

By the way, this discussion has been extremely helpful to me in tweaking the Merging Timelines page as well as the Animations page. I thank you for giving it so much time and thought. --Jasper
