I totally agree with you, they can hide anything they want to and whatever doesn't go with what direction they have decided to go for whatever reason. That's a lot of power.

I saw a movie a while ago, true story. This young guy was found guilty of rape and murder whilst the police was hiding solid evidence againsts the young son of a prominent member of the community. A neighbor had seen this man leave the woman's house, gave that testimony to a police officer and it disappeared.

There is a remedy for this though, if honest investigation is what the police want. If the note pads the officers use had NUMBERED PAGES and if everyone questioned was required to SIGN THEIR STATEMENT right there and then, nothing could disappear. But the public has to be made aware that their testimony counts. That is missing today. We know the cops are less than honest, but why don't we MAKE them honest?
