Charlie,

I think I understand now. You sure had me convinced for a while that he was a creepy-crawler. Maybe you are picking up something about him that isn't what it should be but I couldn't find any evidence of it. Everything he said was helpful to the defense and meshed with defense witness testimony that hadn't been heard yet.

Please don't misunderstand me. I have a high regard for intuitive knowledge. I have also seen where it can lead you astray.

In 1970 I met a guy that I hated instantly. I'm not talking dislike, here. I'm talking hate. One night we were on a detail loading ammunition for a night assault exercise. I was there instead of being out on the course because my leg was in a plaster cast. I had no idea why he was there, I just knew that he was always on sick call, he always looked perfectly healthy and he always had a creepy smirk on his face.

Before I knew what was happening we were having a great discussion. The guy was bright and funny and the reason he was always on sick call was because he had some kind of weird neurological condition that would eventually kill him. He was marking time until someone could untangle the mistakes that put him in uniform and kept him there for so long. He hated his hidden handicap more than I hated my obvious one. He found it frustrating and humiliating that he couldn't act like a real soldier.

So, now I'm feeling like a moron and a jerk for how I'd felt about the guy before I knew anything about him. There was still that creepy smirk, though. Sitting there in the dark I couldn't see his fact well enough to be bothered by it. The fact that it was so out of whack with the guy I'd just gotten to know made me suspect that I'd imagined it.

Finally I confessed my irrational hatred of him on sight. I can still remember exactly what he said. He said, "It's not your fault. It's my smile. It pisses everybody off."

I asked him why he did it and he told me… Remember that weird neurological condition? He smiled that way because he had no control over it. Some of the nerves going to his sardonic muscled were paralyzed.

Hope I didn't bore you with that story. Having that experience has been a big help to me. This seemed like a good time to share it.

I did miss seeing what you, Pat and some others I know picked up about Fuhrman right away. I shamefully admit that he did have me fooled until F. Lee Bailey tore into him. Only then did I see what you saw immediately and wondered how I could have missed it. The difference is, evidence lay at ever turn in the road toward investigating Fuhrman that the evil you saw in him was real. With Schwab, that wasn't true.

I just linked his picture to Merging Timelines. It might not hurt to check his sardonic muscles. --Jasper
