While I was watching the trial, I always had the feeling that there was an elephant in the living room that everybody was trying to ignore.
I got that feeling back today and it has been coming on for a short while now.
We all sat there and watched 4 people say that they never saw a white SUV nor did they see Nicole's Jeep in the time period of 10:30 to after 12 (Stein).
We all sat there and heard at least 2 people call the Jeep dark greeen (Karpf and a cop). At the time I think there were 3 people but I have only been able to relocate two of the three. Karpf claimed color blindness (green/black??) but the cop just said when told by Cochran I believe that the Jeep was black --"I thought it was green."
We now know that the cops at least moved the Jeep a few feet (if not completely). That is all they will confess to but they give no explanation as to why they moved critical evidence in a double murder.
We didn't learn until the civil trial depos that Freddy can account for the 5 keys on the key ring found with Ron and NONE of them were the borrowed car keys nor was his apt. key on it.
That car was not seen that night and wasn't found til 4pm the next day after 3 searches when it was in plain sight at the end of the alley. The steering wheel had been "wiped clean" of prints as testified to by the fingerprint guy. It was not just w/out good prints or smudges--it had been wiped clean. (one elephant in the LR is that it for damned sure OJ didn't run around wiping the steering wheel clean of prints that night nor did Ron do it himself before he got out of the car.)
And add to that what we were just talking about today. Karpf's testimony was only to give credibility to Schwab--although the time was wrong as it was testified to.
We all heard Karpf say that there was a leash on the dog but dismissed it instead of thinking it could have been removed after he saw it. Or that the tags were gone as well. According to Dick, the collar was still on the dog and I have no reason to doubt him on that since he reread the testimony recently, I assume.
Also Schwab says he talked to the other dog couple before he got to Bundy. That he stopped and talked to them, YET when he goes by them again he only says hi after he now is in possession of TWO dogs when he had only one before?
And we know that Schwab's flagging down the cop who has probably already noticed his presence on the street with an UNLEASHED dog--had the practical purpose of stopping the cop from going further on down the street and distracted him away if he was in fact making a call on a barking dog complaint. And he doesn't tell the cop about the blood on the dog which would have gained him more help with the dog had he really been seeking it.
Yep, there has been a BIG FAT ELEPHANT sitting in the living room trying to be ignored.
