I've been working all day on the High Points. In the process I came across a picture of O.J. from his video which probably explains what happened. When you put that picture together with any of the animation pictures showing the layout of the Rockingham estate it's easy to see.
O.J. said on and E! Interview that he let Kato out in front of the house and parked the car. When he got out himself Kato was already on is way up the north path to his guesthouse. The thing I think is throwing everybody is the notion that O.J. walked into the front door nearest to the Ashford gates where Park saw him enter later that night. The house had two front entrances. The one nearest to the Bentley was next to the garage. If O.J. from the angle that O.J. would have seen Kato going to the back as he was going into the house through the French doors next to the garage, he could have easily assumed that Kato detected his motion toward that entrance with his peripheral vision.
This is a point that Marci made lawyer magic with when she seized on it as an attempt by O.J. to give himself an alibi. It still amazes me how many people fill for it. If O.J. was really trying to give himself an alibi all he had to do was shout something at Kato to be sure he got his attention and then gone into the house. But even that is silly, because all he would have had to do was walk right back out again.
It's a non-issue that looms large only in light of the murders and the prosecution's attempts to portray O.J. as a killer AND a liar. I'm going to be putting a list of things like this in High Points/Fact Fiction Speculation. Look for it soon. --Jasper
