The aunk (sp) is an ancient Egyptian amulent. Some people wear it as a psuedo relegious symbol and some as good luck charm. I it is very common for new age people to wear it and others who just like the shape and have no idea what it is. As to my knowledge it has nothing to do with gayness. Their is a mystery part of the jewish religion that has been promoted by new age people which would probably include wearing the aunk. Some say that what Goldman had was really a coke spoon. I can easily see how the shape could be adaped for a spoon and can see that it could be a fad in Hollywood.
