Miss Marple and Jasper,
Something else about those notes--
Recently, I read Riske's testimony in the civil trial and he talks about the only electric light on in the condo was in the kitchen. That the lighting in the living room was only candles.
It is odd that Fuhrman is sitting in a barely lit room writing these notes.
Perhaps he turned on a light but I know of no statements that this was done.
The timing of his "stopping" is odd too as has been mentioned. He could have continued writing notes up until the time the other detectives came. It was his "job" to do so when you really think about it.
You may recall that in testimony in the criminal trial, Phillips says that the notes of the interview with Kato is NOT done in Fuhrman's handwriting although the notes are attributed to him.
I have long suspected that Fuhrman (just like his tapes tell) testified to things he did not do nor did not see in PLACE of another cop. Perhaps Roberts. Even at Rockingham. He said he was chosen for being able to testify well and the appearance he gave, etc.
I think it is a strong possibility in this case as well.
I think it a high possibility that Roberts went with them to Rockingham as well and his presence was hidden. Why? Because they wanted Fuhrman to testify to things that Roberts did and they needed him to appear to not even be there.
I think that being awakened at before 6 by the cops and being questioned --it would be easy for Kato to not exactly recall who questioned him--especially if he saw Roberts around as well.
