Miss Marple, I can't disagree with you at all. I have many times wondered if Nicole wasn't setting up and being helped to set up as Heidi's replacement--in the area especially as informant and an informant operation.
Long before you started posting here we had a very long discussion that pops up every once in a while that we dubbed "the person in the closet". And in it we detail all the actions (including the 9 or 10 hr wait for the coroner) that the cops did that were designed it appears to Hide the presence of another party at the house.
I won't go into detail but it does involved the ESPN on the tv and the blue jean jacket and the moved Jeep and perhaps the moved car of Ron's.
And we have discussed just WHO the cops would do that For. And most concluded that the answer lies in someone who would be in danger (like a child witness) or a very powerful person.
When it comes right down to it, the absolute lack of any attempt that could be seen to locate the 10 o'clock visitor is odd and bizarre in the extreme for a murder case. Esp. since the DA's theory presented was that just mere moments later Nicole and Ron are killed.
In fact, including Rachel in this scenario as well, the cops went Way out of their way to NOT account for all the calls and visitors that Nicole had that evening.
As our theory goes---the questions not asked are more important than the one that were and the same goes for witnesses not called and people not interviewed, etc. Or who did not testify.
Also, Lang said he left as soon as the guy glared at him. He did not say the visitor went away at the same time. Lang has no idea how long the visitor may have stayed after 10 pm.
Considering that the DA's claimed that within the next 15 minutes after Lang sees this visitor and 2 cohorts, Nic and Ron are dead.
Not putting any significance on this possible "witness" is bizarre.
One can only conclude that they were hiding him. Or hiding his identity.
In our state, many official cars are white. In recent years, many have switched over to the SuV or truck-like vehicles. Vehicles on a local, county and state level are commonly white.
We also don't know when this person arrived. Lang just saw him (and his cohorts) at 10. He was already parked and out of the vehicle when seen by Lang as was the body guard. And the vehicle I believe had to be parked going the wrong way on Bundy because Lang said he could see the driver with his head and arm out the window I believe. That could only happen if the vehicle is facing north and parked with the driver to the curb.
