He is a democrate. But he is from a very conservative area and votes with the republicans.
Charlie there is no liberal press. It is controlled by big business. The reporters tend to be independents, but they report what the advertisers want and that is big business.
There are a few liberal web sites, like salon, the nation, and mother jones, but none, none on TV.
