The Constitution gives every American this Cloak Of Innocence as you put it. It is the media who took this cloak away from all Americans and it is imperative that the Innocent until PROVEN GUILTY be put back in place or more people will be unjustly convicted either in a court of law or else in the court of Public Opinion. The loss of Innocent until proven guilty was almost gone long before O.J. Simpson case, and now it is long gone. It is time to change the Justice System in a direction that most people would find unacceptable. The point is, it is what our Country was founded upon. Individual Rights. It is time to give the Defense to be given their right to use ANY defense they feel is right. That when two explanations are given that fit the evidence that the one that shows innocence prevails. Too many people show the second explanation and still get convicted. There is a girl in Oregon serving six years, she may be about to get out, because she was from another state and her boyfriend who was from Oregon and had rich parents forced the DA to bring charges against her despite the clear insufficient evidence, stacked the jury with their friends who convicted the girl for involuntary manslaughter. She had nothing to do with the boyfriend falling off the cliff if you believe her. It was self defense if you believe the Prosecution. No trial should have ever taken place. Too many innocent people are in Prison today. The figure I believe is still thirty percent innocent people in prison. Most people refuse to believe the number although it is true.
