Although this is compelling that these ear witnesses give an appearance for the time of the murder, that in itself with the phone call to the police around 10:30 gives the appearance of the murder taking place around the time given. Never forget how important in many of the films that Furhman might watch a change of time for the appearance of the murder is how they expected to get away with it as well as pointing the finger at another.
