Maggie, You are correct. This is no small thing.
For one thing going through the front door and walking over the so-called blood that they allegedly told Kato not to step in becomes an issue.
Also, Officer Gonzolaz testified he saw that Arnelle, Lange and Vannatter went in the front door. When this was pointed out to him in the civil trial as being different than what they said, he got hostile on the stand and Judge Fuji dismissed him without having to finish testifying.
I had noticed the difference in the testimonies. I had noticed that Vannatter said that about seeing the maid's room and then later leaving that out of his description of what happened.
Also, since the box to deactivate the burglar alarm was right across the hall from the maid's room in that laundry hallway, they were trying to distance themselves from that box.
The impression that they first gave was that Arnelle went fast to the security box to deactivate it and then pointed out that the maid's room was right there.
They were trying to get Arnelle AWAY from the area where the box to deactivate the security system was by Lange's later testimony.
Yes, you are correct. Coming in the front door shows the kitchen right there. Coming in the back door does not.
