During the Criminal trial O.J. Simpson was not allowed to testify because of the prosecution. They had targeted Jurors and would have kept him on the stand until a mistrial was proclaimed. He could not risk more years in jail awaiting trial as the case against Rae Carruth, he asked for a quick trial and the prosecution and judge denied him his right to a speedy trial because the Prosecution stated they didn't have enough time to begin trial till 2001. Go figure when people take people's rights away.
