Charlie,
"The 'implications' FOR the OJS case'" and the implications OF the OJS case color EVERYTHING it might apply to with regard to the criminal justice system and the media. That's why I can't turn it loose. I saw it coming with the media's reaction to O.J.'s acquittal in the criminal case and the reaction of the justice system and the media at all levels of power that assured the "responsible" verdict and popular support for that verdict in the civil case.
If the entire Bill of Rights was scratched from the Constitution on the grounds of "getting" people who are "obviously" guilty of terrible crimes, few people would protest. Of course you'd have to give that disappearing act another name or simply pretend that it didn't happen. Some of the majority would stand up and cheer. The rest would yawn - and tune into Oprah. --Jasper
