The reason I have different memories of when the footsteps and when the voices were because the interpreter was doing such a bad job and a friend of mine who is hispanic was going nuts. She is the one who said that Rosa was saying the voices earlier and hearing footsteps later between twelve thirty and one. Rosa was being very precise and the interpreter was making her sound stupid. My friend was screaming at the Television and soon afterwards the defense recieved a note from a group who protects the rights of the people from South America telling them the interpreter was not interpreting very well. It was about then that Rosa was allowed a new interpreter that did not much better. My friend called me the next day and was just as angry saying that Rosa would be better off to try to speak English because these interpreters were interpreting pro prosecution and making Rosa look stupid. On Cross examination Darden gets it to appear she is saying voices first footsteps later. it went back and forth, according to the interpreter but my friend said that she said it the same each time, voices first, later footsteps. Go by the transcripts, even though you know the interpreter did not do a very good job.
