Hi Jasper,
Thanks for the prompt response. I am very pleased to be on a first name basis with you and the other participants as well.
I am aware of the basic demeanor of the participants as I have been visiting this site for a long time. The worst example of personal attacks that I have seen is on the Deja site. Name calling and even four-letter word attacks are common (in more ways than one). This behavior is disgraceful and unnecessary--and counterproductive which is even worse. And so I am glad to be communicating with you and your friends. All of you seem to always try to raise the dialog to a higher level of discussion.
I just spoke to Donald Freed a few minutes ago and told him of your trying to reach him. He says that he never received anything from you. He thought that was because you may have sent it to his publisher, and that the division of McMillan which published his book doesn't exist anymore. He is very receptive to the idea of a communication with you. As you may not know, he doesn't own a computer--all of his books and plays have been written in long hand. I've known him for 27 years and even I didn't know that! I will be glad to give you his home address if you will provide me with a private E-mail. I mean no disrespect to the participants, and I would follow their wishes also if the situation were reversed.
Your criticisms of the Bill Curtis documentary are, of course, well taken. I didn't mean to suggest that I was so "impressed" with it, just that it had been the best one that I had seen. My obvious conclusion would be that if that one was the best I had seen, then we aren't doing too well as far as television is concerned.
As for Joe Bosco, I will try to speak to him as soon as I can--he is a little harder to reach and usually has to return my calls. I will have to reread Joe's book on the points you have brought up, but Ioaned out my copy so must wait till I get it back. I will try to ask him about it though.
As for the baseball bat incident, are you saying that Fuhrman injected himself into it by stating that it took place in 1985, or that he was there in 1984 (if Simpson is correct)? I know of no evidence that Fuhrman was at Rockingham in 1984. It's interesting in either event.
I am going to contact the Brits right away and tell them to check out your work--I hope they have the time to do it. I will certainly give them a strong pitch.
Concerning Wasz, have you checked out the current edition of "Prevailing Winds" magazine? Joe's article that was originally supposed to be published by "Time" magazine has now been published by PWs with some up-dates. You and I should really have a phone discussion on this matter as Wasz used to call me all the time from the prison and there is two much to go over for E-mail.
I agree with your view of the Karate issue, and will bring that up to the Brits also.
I believe I might be able to help with the photograph of Simpson and Sydney as I watched 3 channels and switched between them when ever there was a commercial break: E, CNN, and KTLA Fox 5 from Los Angeles--these were the only ones on my cable which broadcasted the entire trial daily.
When you ask about "the opposite side" of Bundy and Rockingham, do really mean opposite as in across the street, or next door on either side? (BTW, my friend David Lifton lives on Dorothy St. right around the corner from the murder scene where he has lived since the middle 60's when he was a graduate student at UCLA.)
You can send me E-mail at pval@vegas.infi.net. If you can send me your personal E-mail (the one on the site has not worked the 2 times I've tried it), and a phone number where I can reach you (which I will give to no one without your permission), as we should talk by phone about Wasz. If you will do this, I can get Don's address to you right away.
Thank You and Best Regards,
Pat Valentino
