My unbelievable solution to the Simpson case is that it was a media-bred hoax meant to demonstrate the gullibility of the American electorate. The 'national IQ test' was exactly what happened in the story of The Emporer's New Clothes: anyone who failed to see Simpson's guilt was branded an idiot. It was actually a "National Gullibility Test," engineered by a wealthy man intending to move that one step higher into real political power.
Fuhrman might have been media savvy, but how could he guess the way this case would be so relentlessly exploited? The christian brando case a few years before had many of the same scandalous details and involved a much hotter celebrity, yet it came and went without one of the investigators getting spotlighted. why was Simpson such a target?
