O.J. Sompson had been recieving death threats and he could have had it turned on for when he was upstairs. A pad may have been upstairs when they set it up for there. I doubt this happened, but it may make sense. He did have two motion detectors however so it is possible the top of the stairs had one motion detector aimed at the staircase and this makes the most of one of two motion detectors in regards to protecting anyone sleeping upstairs. I bet he has such a setup now to protect himself and his kids. With Kato in the guest house and O.J.'s trust of him in as far as his being a flake of sorts makes me wonder if he would really think that might be enough to remove the motion detector for an outside door. Had they try to say that O.J. came through that door we'd know forsure if there was a motion detector there. What points to it not being there is that the prosecution said nothing about how O.J. Simpson got in the house that way or didn't use the door because he knew he had a motion detector. So this is an indication that there was no detector there. They just made it one big room, and Kato I believe when asked during the criminal trial about that chart he stated clearly that the chart was wrong and Marcia Clark got really angry with him and told him to just answer her about his path to the back of the guest house.
