When the police came to investigate at Rockingham they contacted Westec Security. It seems to me that Westec could have turned off the alarms for the police as soon as they arrived. Also, the detectives saw Arnelle before they entered the main house. Arnelle could have turned off the alarms at any time without considering it an important enough matter to mention unless she was asked. -- Jasper

The front office was OJ's. The office next to Kato was Nicoles.
The secondary alarm was a motion dectector. A motion detector type alarm is much harder to by pass than the central alarm that was in the house. But a motion alarm has the draw back of a person or dog setting it off by mistake. It was in OJ's testimoney that he talked about it. He would not say where the motion alarms where, think he said 2 rooms and I figure that the extra protection would be his office and the trophy room. Had to be rooms that could be locked so people would not set alarm off by mistake. The box to set the alarm was out side OJ's bedroom as was one for the regular alarm. It must not have been set the night of the murders since the police opened the locked door to the office. Charlie says that she believes that OJ had a safe in the office. Or it may be that when they opened it was during the search warrent. He may have forgotten to set both alarms that night. The motion alarm would prevent Kato going thru the trophy room if it was set. Remember that the door was locked from the office into the main house.
