The scout was a well known automobile. SUV was not yet in existance. A Scout was considered on of the ugliest jeeps ever made. Some even comparedit to a Borgward, this old ugly car that had only one claim and it was false, dependibility. Young almost sixteen year old girls were controlled in those days by their fathers by, "If you don't do as I say forget the sports car, I'll buy you one of those scout Jeeps that my friend drives when he goes hunting." :):)
